My Small adventure...........

there I am with our Phucka in College street
Adventure is a big word and for me it means to be able to do what most cannot think off...and in a busy city like Kolkata and a busy life like ours...we forget the small things in live which can become an adventure if we want it to be...most of us would just wait for our friends to make plans for movies or outings in the weakened but I always like to have my small adventure all on my own and absolutely alone....I know its hard to think how can we enjoy alone but believe me for an observer and writer like me its a blessing to be able to go and explore the various parts of the city alone...so I often go on such days and I have planned some more in the future but today I would tell you about my small adventure....I am a great foodie and nothing can match the "Phucka" of Kolkata. I had tried phucka in other cities as well like in Mumbai its called pani puri and usually the pani puri sellers on the beach just give yellow beans in them and salted water.....yuk and in Ajmer its called pakora and its very tiny...its amazing how things are named differently in all over the world. My personal favorite phucka is new market and gariahat...the one I tried in College street was also good.
The tram ride
Hand richshaw
Again my day could not have been complete if I had not taken my joy ride in the hand rickshaw to New market....The hand rickshaw is something which reminds me of my school days...in the early chilling mornings at 6 my siblings and I used to go to school...and our rickshaw used to tear through the mist on the road and make that tinkling sound when the paddles moved...it was so relaxing and specially the cold used to make the ride to school more special....I have so many memories attached to this ride....once me and my sister had sang on the top of our voice in the rainy season in our richshaw ,our favorite song from Dil to pagal hai...and on coming back home got the scolding of our life for that unacceptable behavior.......My small adventure could not be fun if  the tram ride was not a part of it....I took a tram ride back to my home..I usually don't get the chance to take the tram because it is slow but that day just felt very nice.I wanted to relax and take things slowly so I let the breeze flow through my face and saw Kolkata roads slowly passing away. What was remarkable was that I had enjoyed being with myself wholeday without being bored to death and with only 50 rupees with me....believe me I forgot the expensive coffee with my friends in CCD....all of which is a sign of poshness....I really never liked that phase of my life much...I was always an outdoor person more, an explorer. So that day I went to college street to have my special puchka....went to new market to try my Softy ice cream, went to maidan to take a walk on the green grass in the evening and with lemon tea in my hand and my notebook with me, I sat their and saw the setting sun...The beautiful changing patterns and colours in the sky..and after it was dark I could see the cars with their lights on speeding on the roads. The lights were flickering in the darkness and the wind was blowing and the trees looked so mysterious in the darkness of the maidan...they silently moved with the wind singing under the shining moon...it was wonderful. My small adventure gave me so much peace...sometime to think and observe things...its important to slow down sometimes and see things and feel what is going around us because in our fast life we often miss the beautiful small things in life and a day comes when we are old and we have no zeal in us.....slow down, sing along, do what you always wanted to do...what is more important is that you enjoy your own company, being alone:)
Its time that you too have your own little adventure and explore this part of our world..in the course of time I would take you to places where you have not set your foot ever being in Kolkata itself and outside of Kolkata too:)
